Achtergrond[bewerken]
Kelvin Van Veenendaal started working in the world of music when he was 10-11 years old. He first encountered electronic music as a genre while playing games on his home computer. Electronic music sounds especially started to interest him when his grandfather bought himself a drum machine with a "house" sound (TR-909). Every member of his family was involved in music, everyone played some kind of instrument. Thus, he benefited from musical education at a very early age. Kelvin took an immediate liking to the music genre through his grandfather. The stage name " Klaus Veen " was inspired by the German organist Klaus Wunderlich , because during a computer game ( Counter Strike ), his music was always played during a winning round.
When Klaus was 10-11 years old, he started making music in addition to his love for it. He mastered the basics of electronic music sound thanks to the ReBirth computer music creation application. He learned everything by himself, self-taught. In those days, the Internet appeared, neither the YouTube video sharing nor the Google Internet browser existed. He "rowed" in different styles at that time, from house to techno . For a while, he made the songs for his own enjoyment, not for others. It took him time to find his way into the DJ world. " I can't even tell you why I didn't DJ [sooner]."
He was inspired by many artists, including Kerri Chandler , Todd Terry , Derrick Carter and other older disc jockeys.
