De Afghan Hound is een blonde vrouwtjeshond met een lange snuit.
De eerste keer dat ze voorkwam was in aflevering 214 van The Muppet Show en daarna was ze vooral te zien als een achtergrond Muppet in heel veel Muppet Show-sketches.
In haar sprekende rollen werd ze gespeeld door Louise Gold in o.a. aflevering 214 en 216 van The Muppet Show.
Naast haar rol in The Muppet Show, The Muppet Movie, The Muppets (film) en Muppets Most Wanted kwam ze ook voor in de intro van de serie: Mopatop's Shop. Ook kwam ze voor in de achtergrond van E-I-E-I-OR bij Muppets Tonight.
Haar meest recentelijke rol waarbij ze spreek was in The Muppets (film) als als 1 van de Muppets die de telefoontjes voor The Muppets Telethon aanneemt tijdens deze rol werd ze gespeeld door Alice Dinnean.
